The Rookie in Windsor Heights, Iowa, is a great sports card shop we want to highlight for collectors who love the good old-fashioned hobby shop.  Located in Windsor Heights, a suburb of Des Moines, The Rookie has an incredible selection of merchandise that will amaze just about any collector.  When you walk into the store, you will see box after box of singles, display cases loaded with nice looking vintage singles and top-end modern singles, and a wall full of unopened wax and packs for sale.  Anders Olson, the owner of The Rookie, caters to the hardcore collector with plenty of supplies, price guides, and just about anything else the sports card collector needs.  The Rookie also has a nice selection autographed memorabilia, McFarlanes, Bobbleheads, and other great pieces perfect for any sports fan.

Anders takes pride on promoting a clean, well-organized, family-friendly atmosphere for all collectors who visit his store.  He treats customers like they want to be treated and that is why he has been a favorite destination for sports card collectors in the Des Moines area since 2005.  This is a great place to take the beginner collector as the staff takes the time to explain the hobby for those who have questions about any aspect of the trading card hobby.

One of the main highlights of The Rookie is the amazing amount of cards that the shop carries.  You will find both modern and vintage cards from all of the major sports.  You can spend hours sorting through the many boxes of singles, easily accessible in the middle of the store.  The shop has all of the latest releases and plenty of unopened wax boxes from previous seasons.  If The Rookie doesn’t have something in stock that you are looking for, ask one of the guys and they will be see if they can order it for you.  This is a full-service card shop and they truly work hard to keep the hardcore collector coming back time and time again.

The Rookie also keeps customers coming back by hosting a number of popular in-store events. The Bid Board is a favorite of collectors who visit shop.  Every week, select cards are added to the Bid Board and collectors are encouraged to stop by and place a bid.  The bidding ends at 2:30 every Saturday and always delivers a fun-filled atmosphere as the bidding comes to a close.  The Rookie will also be hosting a trade night in the near future. Las Vegas Shop Owner Chosen for "Pawn Stars"

CardShopFinder has exciting news for sports card collectors in Las Vegas and for all collectors who watch the television show "Pawn Stars." Jeremy Brown, owner of Ultimate Sports Cards in Las Vegas, Nevada, will be appearing in upcoming episodes of "Pawn Stars" as the new on-air expert in sports memorabilia and rare trading cards for the Vegas pawn shop. It's still to be determined how many of the segments Jeremy has already taped will make the director's cut or when the episodes will be aired (he has been told as early as September). If you have watched "Pawn Stars" in previous seasons, you know that a number of amazing historical pieces have come through the shop's doors. While Jeremy can't tell us what specific items he has had a chance to look at, he did say that he has seen a couple of very cool and rare items. We at CardShopFinder hope Jeremy "breaks a leg" and we are looking forward to seeing the new episodes.

The owner, Mike Brown, makes sure that every visitor who comes to the shop is treated like a longtime friend and takes great care to make every visit a memorable experience. We wanted to tell card collectors from around the world about one of the newest card shops in the U.S.A.  Pal’s Sports cards in Andover, Minnesota opened in late July 2010 and is looking forward to becoming a big part of the collecting scene with area collectors and those passing through.  When you stop in at Pal’s, you’ll find everything a card collector could possibly need:  a quality selection of modern releases, modern and vintage singles,  hobby supplies, and autographed memorabilia to name a few.

Time to highlight one of our favorite shops in Iowa, Grandslam Collectibles in Cedar Rapids. This sportscard shop has just about anything the hardcore collector could possibly want or need. Located in Lindale Mall, Grandslam Collectibles carries all the latest hobby releases from every major sport, rare and vintage cards, supplies, price guides, memorabilia and many other sports collectibles. Collectors often ask us, any big hits from the wax? Glandslam's owner, Mike, sent us a picture of one of the bigger recent hits pulled from his store.
